Aluminum is the most abundant metallic element, and the third most abundant of all elements in the Earth’s
crust, making up 8% of the crust by weight. Only silicon and oxygen are more plentiful. Aluminum has
numerous applications in the home and industry, and is a familiar metal to nearly everyone.

Bonnell Aluminum is a manufacturer of aluminum extruded profiles to the building and construction
market. These profiles are generally designed based on the customer’s specifications and produced in
various finishes such as mill (unfinished), anodized and painted, with or without thermal-barriers.
Aluminum extruded profiles are used in the production of residential and commercial window components,
curtain walls and storefronts, interior architectural modules, photovoltaic collectors, tub and shower doors,
among other products.

Manufacturing Facilities. Bonnell Aluminum manufacturing facilities are located in Newnan GA, Carthage
TN, and Kentland IN.

Raw Materials. The primary raw materials used by Bonnell Aluminum consist of aluminum ingot,
aluminum scrap and various alloys, which are procured from domestic and foreign producers in openmarket

MR Credits 4.1 and 4.2 – Recycled Content. For the production of 6063 and 6005A alloyed aluminum
extruded products, Bonnell Aluminum uses aluminum billets made up of approximately 60% of recycled
content (55% post industrial, 5% post consumer).

(Note: The percentage is calculated as post-consumer recycled material + only 1/2 pre-consumer recycled material).

MR Credits 5.1 and 5.2 – Regional Materials. In order to qualify for these credits, all materials or products
must be extracted, harvested or recovered, as well as manufactured, within 500 miles of the project site.
Aluminum extrusions would not qualify for these credits as the main ore of aluminum is bauxite. Less than
1% of aluminum in the U.S. comes from domestic bauxite. Major bauxite producing countries include
Australia, Guinea, Brazil, Jamaica, and the former U.S.S.R.
